On Dec.13, SUIBE, the Organization Department of the Municipal Party Committee and the Shanghai Party Institute of CPC jointly held a symposium on enhancing Shanghai municipal cadres’ ability to participate in global economic governance. More than 30 officials from Shanghai Municipal Development & Reform Commission, Shanghai Municipal Comission of Commerce, and LingangSpecial Area attended the symposium. Seventeen experts and scholars, including former WTO Deputy Director-GeneralYiXiaozhun, gavelectures at the five-day event.
A training session was held onthe Gubei Campus of SUIBE on Dec. 15. XuMei, Vice Chairwoman of the University Council and Chairwoman of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, attended thelaunching ceremony of the training session and delivered a speech. Through field visits, interview-based teaching and scenario simulations, traineesreviewedthe past 20 years since China’saccession to the WTO, learnedthe strategic connotationof China’s expanding high-level opening upand firm supportfor the multilateral trading system, discussed the strategic deployment of China’s active participation in the WTO reform and in-depth participation in global economic governance, and proposed measuresto makethe global economic governance system fairer and more reasonable.
